Veteran Nollywood actress Idowu Phillips professionally known as Mama Rainbow, recently had the Dubai-based edition of her 77th birthday ceremony. Recall that the much loved actress clocked the new age on Wednesday October 16, and had celebrated with friends and families back in Nigeria. Well, it appears the celebration did not just stop in the shores of the country, as the actress had a star-studded edition of her birthday party in Dubai. The lavish event was attended by several Nigerians that are resident in the country, as well as popular fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, who treated the audience to an energetic performance of some his popular numbers.

Fire has gutted a shopping complex on Martin Street on the Lagos Island area of Lagos State. Our correspondent learnt that men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos State Fire Service have been deployed to put out the inferno. Many traders, our correspondent learnt, had been struggling to salvage some of their goods from the burning building. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage had yet to be ascertained as of press time.
