ABUJA- THE Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC,has denied being under pressure from any quarter to rig the forth coming general elections in favour of any candidate or political p
The body said contrary to insinuations in some quarters, it has no preferred candidates,vowing to surpass the 2015 general elections in terms of credibility.
INEC chairman, Prof. Yakubu Manhood, who spoke Monday, in Abuja during a meeting he held with the acting Inspector General of Police, IGP,Mohammed Adamu, was responding to a question from newsmen following allegations by the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo last Saturday.

FIRE OUTBREAK IN BALOGUN MARKET

Fire has gutted a shopping complex on Martin Street on the Lagos Island area of Lagos State. Our correspondent learnt that men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos State Fire Service have been deployed to put out the inferno. Many traders, our correspondent learnt, had been struggling to salvage some of their goods from the burning building. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage had yet to be ascertained as of press time.
